Lviv is the sixth-largest city in Ukraine, as well as the largest city in the western part of the country, with a population of 723,403. It serves as the administrative center of Lviv Oblast and Lviv Raion, and is one of the main cultural centers of Ukraine. The city also hosts the administration of Lviv urban hromada.
